About me

In 2015, I faced reality and realised I tipped the scales at 132 kilograms. (291 pounds). Long story short (you can read ‘my journey’ for the long story!) I lost over 60kgs (132 pounds) in approximately my first 18 months of training.

Since then, I left my career as a primary school teacher to become a personal trainer. My mission is to help others change their lifestyle and make sustainable changes to discover to improve their quality of life.

I offer personal training here on the Gold Coast at Anytime Fitness Ormeau and Helensvale. For those who are looking for something different or who are out of this region, I also offer online training. This will consist of 24/7 contact with myself, a weekly Skype/call check-in, a personalised training program and nutrition support. If you would like to find out more click here.

My journey

Throughout my life I have always struggled with my weight. During childhood, adolescence and adulthood I have always been overweight. I went through countless phases of dieting and exercise to always end up putting the weight back on.

I reached by heaviest weight in 2015 weighing in around 132 kilograms. In September, I started going to the gym doing cardio and I began to eat healthier. By the end of December I’d lost around 20 kilograms but knew I still had a long way to go and I was petrified of falling off the wagon again so I decided to get a personal trainer.

I started 2016 with the support of a personal trainer who introduced me to weight training. I quickly fell in love with strength training, became addicted and saw big results. In about 18 months, I had lost approximately 60 kilograms and was the healthiest/lightest and happiest that I’ve ever been in my life.

Discovering weight training and adopting a healthy lifestyle has saved my life. It not only has helped me lose weight and become healthier but has changed my confidence and outlook on life.  I have been lucky enough to have many opportunities to share my journey with others. I competed in a transformation bodybuilding contest placing second, I had a magazine article in That’s Life, an article in the Daily News and interviews with the Morning show and Channel 7.

My personal journey and the life changing affect my personal trainer had on my life is what ignited my passion to becoming a personal trainer. I have an enormous passion for empowering people to change their life, follow their own fitness journeys and helping them fall in love with fitness just like I have!
